Hmmmmm... what do those two bedbug-infested cities have in common? (HINT: R-OH)
And what's up with Ohio? It's got 3 of the top 10 infestations.

I don't mean to pick on Ohio, but it does seem odd that the Buckeye state is suffering so disproportionately from this plague. Maybe the gods sent it as punishment for Bush winning the state in 2004?
Maybe John Boehner's tanning cream is some sort of bedbug aphrodisiac?
All those states have very high humidity but I'm not sure that's it. Last year my mom had to move into a weekly hotel/apartment building (here in Las Vegas) and she started getting these red welts on her arms that were very itchy. She thought they were maybe an allergic reaction or spider bites. A few months went by with her suffering and one night she woke up to use the bathroom and turned on the light (which she normally wouldn't do) and she could see her bed covered in bedbugs! She said they actually burst with her blood as she squished them. Needless to say she freaked out. The management came in and sprayed but a few days later she kept seeing them. They came back and moved her bed away from the wall and there was a huge nest right under where she had her pillow. So they finally took that bed, sprayed again and gave her a new bed. She had trouble getting to sleep for awhile after that. So not cool.
